Suzuki V-Strom DL650 with luggage. A waterproof pack on the tank held my Nikon D7000, 18-200 VR lens and Tokina 11-16 lens. Assorted filters, batteries and more.
Well it was really quite a trip. I loaded up my Nikon gear and Manfrotto tripod on a Suzuki DL650 adventure touring motorcycle and rode a couple thousand miles up
to "the Rock".
I encountered plenty of rain and fog, but that made many shots better. I did loose several days of shooting though but
considering the location I am happy with the results.
The trip involved riding through the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, then a 6 hour ferry over to Newfoundland. The ferry back from the other side of the island takes approximately 18 hours.
Along the 14 day ride I saw several moose, bald eagles, helped a sled dog find her way home, got 3 nails in my rear tire, encountered the thickest fog I've ever been in and rockiest ride in a boat I've ever had. I also encountered some excellent weather and amazing views. More on the trip is here.
